About Us
The Foundation for Human Rights in Cuba (“FHRC”) is a 501(c)3 non-profit established in 1992 to promote a non-violent transition to a democratic Cuba and empowering independent Civil Society organizations within Cuba. The FHRC maintains regular contact with non-violent activists inside Cuba and their supporters. Some of these groups include prisoners of conscience and their families, independent journalists and Bloggers, cultural activists, self-employed, independent unions and marginalized sectors. The FHRC also has many initiatives outside of Cuba to promote our efforts within the Island, including fundraising campaigns and public relations. There exist significant human potential ready to contribute to the progress of our global family. It is our duty and yours to hasten a non-violent transition to a free and democratic Cuba that will actively participate in the international community with zero tolerance to violations of human rights.
