Freedom House: Cuba among “The Worst of the Worst” on latest Freedom of the Press report
According, Martí News, “In its annual report, released on Wednesday, the group Freedom House said press freedom in the world in the past year is at its lowest point in over 10 years. Only one in seven people live in countries where coverage of political news was solid, the safety of journalists is guaranteed and state interference in the affairs of the media is less.”
In addition, Cuba is listed among “The Worst of the Worst” where they are grouped with ten nations who are guilty of the most violations of press freedom . This list also includes Belarus, Crimea, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Iran, North Korea, Syria, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.”
